Reds dig into Brighton win: Araujo impresses, Wirtz injury update

Liverpool's 2-0 win over Brighton at Anfield has given plenty for pundits and reporters to pick over, from the attacking display to a worrying moment for Florian Wirtz and an eye-catching outing from Ronald Araujo.

BBC Sport focuses on the bigger picture, with Match of the Day pundits Toby Alderweireld and Ashley Williams breaking down just how impressive Liverpool's attacking play was throughout the victory (BBC Sport).

LiverpoolFC.com shares footage of one particular moment from the game, with Ronald Araujo's header tackle against Brighton drawing attention as a notable individual contribution from the defender (LiverpoolFC.com).

That form from Araujo is echoed by the Liverpool Echo, where John Aldridge says he was "stunned" by what the player did against Brighton, praising his performance in the first half in particular and suggesting it strengthens the case for Liverpool to complete a certain transfer (Liverpool Echo).

Not all the news was positive, though. Liverpool.com reports that Florian Wirtz had to be replaced during the Brighton game after picking up a knock to his ankle, with Trey Nyoni coming on in his place. The playmaker has since given his own injury update on the issue, according to the site (Liverpool.com).

So while BBC Sport and the Liverpool Echo both zero in on the attacking performance and Araujo's rise in particular, Liverpool.com strikes a more cautious note with the fitness concern over Wirtz. LiverpoolFC.com, meanwhile, simply lets the Araujo moment speak for itself with the clip from Anfield.

Taken together, it paints a picture of a satisfying afternoon for Liverpool that was not without its concerns - a big win, a standout display from Araujo that has fans and pundits talking, but also a nervy wait on Wirtz's ankle as attention turns to what comes next, including the midweek visit of Chelsea to Anfield.
