LASK Linz v Liverpool live: score, updates and line-ups

Full time in Linz: Liverpool 6-3 LASK in an absolute goal-fest. Barcola's hat-trick was the centrepiece, with Araújo, Frimpong and Koumas also on the scoresheet as the Reds tore through LASK early on to lead 4-0 before the hosts rallied with three second-half goals, two from substitute Flecker. Liverpool dominated throughout - 64% possession, 26 shots to LASK's 12 - and while the finish was scrappier than the scoreline suggested at one stage, this was a hugely emphatic win to take into the group stage.

Liverpool have steadied things after that wobbly spell, controlling possession again and continuing to carve out openings - Muñoz and van Dijk both went close with headers from Tsimikas crosses. LASK have had a bit of joy of their own in stoppage time, Alemão heading wide, but with the game deep into the 88th minute there's surely no way back from 6-3 for the home side.

Flecker again! Dibango's cross is turned home for his second in three minutes, and suddenly it's 6-3. A wild end-to-end finish to what's still a Liverpool rout, but the home side are at least having their say in these closing stages.

LASK pull another back almost instantly, Flecker heading home from close range off a Dibango assist. It barely dents Liverpool's dominance though, with the Reds still cruising at 6-2 and controlling the ball and the game almost entirely.

Six of the best! Frimpong's cross finds Koumas this time, who finishes calmly from the centre of the box to make it 6-1 - Liverpool are running riot in Linz and showing no mercy.

Barcola completes his hat-trick! Just three minutes after LASK's consolation, the Frenchman pokes home from close range to restore Liverpool's four-goal cushion at 5-1 and underline a ruthless evening in Linz.

LASK get a goal back almost immediately after their triple change, substitute Ljubicic finding the net with a left-footed effort from the centre of the box. It's a consolation that won't trouble Liverpool's control of the game, with the Reds still miles ahead at 4-1.

Liverpool have eased off slightly since the fourth went in, with the game settling into a quieter rhythm. LASK finally got a shot on target through Danek, but Alisson was equal to it, while Koumas and Adeniran both strayed offside at either end. The visitors remain miles ahead on every metric - 20 shots to 7, 68% possession - and look firmly in cruise control at 4-0.

Four and counting! Tsimikas whips in another dangerous cross and this time Frimpong gets up to head home from close range, making it 4-0 and piling further misery on a LASK side who still haven't managed a shot on target.

Quiet start to the second half in Linz, with the stats barely moving since the break - Liverpool still dominant on the ball at over 70% possession and 19 shots to LASK's 5. Flecker's arrival for Jørgensen is the only change so far as the hosts try to find a foothold, but there's been nothing yet to trouble the 3-0 scoreline.

Barcola grabs his second! Wirtz slides him through and he finishes calmly to make it 3-0, completing a thoroughly one-sided opening 37 minutes for Liverpool, who've racked up 16 shots to LASK's 3.

Liverpool have kept their foot down without adding to the scoreline. Gravenberch crashed a shot against the post from a tight angle before Wirtz had a follow-up effort blocked, while Koumas was flagged offside as the visitors continue to pour forward. LASK remain pinned back, still with just two shots to their name as Liverpool close in on double figures for corners won.

Liverpool are cutting loose now! Barcola slots home from Koumas's cutback moments after the Araújo opener, and LASK are being completely overrun - 10 shots to 2 and barely a fifth of the possession for the hosts.

Liverpool breakthrough! Araújo rises highest at the near post to head home Tsimikas's corner delivery, and it's exactly what their dominance has deserved - 8 shots to LASK's 2 and over 77% of the ball tells its own story.

Liverpool have tightened their grip, pushing possession up to over 76% and peppering the LASK goal from a string of corners. Wirtz has been the main threat, denied by a smart save from Jungwirth before seeing another effort blocked, while Araujo also went close with a header. LASK are yet to really trouble Alisson and look increasingly pinned back in their own half.

An even, scrappy opening in Linz with plenty of set-pieces but little clear-cut quality. Liverpool have dominated possession and had early sight of goal through Frimpong and Koumas, both off target, while LASK have had their own moments from corners through Danek and Jørgensen without testing Alisson. Four corners in the first nine minutes shows how end-to-end it's been, though Liverpool's control of the ball suggests they're edging it.
